Cheaper travel with your bestie
In 2014, train companies launched the first new railcard for over 30 years. The Two Together Railcard let any two people register for one‐third discounts on off‐peak travel during the week, and all travel at weekends, on any journey where they travelled together. From young couples exploring the countryside to best mates going to the football, or any combination you can think of.
Since the new railcard was launched five years ago, Two Together holders have saved over £190million on over 30m different occasions. Added together, they have travelled over 2.7billion miles. That’s about as far as one round trip to Saturn and back.
Railcard discounts have been available for many years to certain groups, including the under 26’s and the over 60’s, members of HM Armed Forces and those with registered disabilities. Those railcards have saved users around £8billion.
The Two Together railcard was the first to be designed around what passengers were telling us about how they wanted to use the railway in their leisure time. Beyond saving on the train fare, includes savings on major tourist attractions, theatre tickets, restaurants and hotels.
